Natural History Museum in Oslo

Natural History Museum in Oslo is located next to the Botanical Garden. The main highlight of this museum is a huge and no doubt impressive skeleton of T-Rex, which was the main thing I wanted to see here.

Moreover, this museum has a very impressive collection of crystals, fossils and different rocks.

However next part of the museum isn’t that impressive as the first hall we came in was. Other rooms are filled with dusty and neglected stuffed animals which are placed in their “natural habitat” behind the glass. Probably this part of a museum is more suitable and enjoyable for kids and well… totally not for vegans. 😀 However, I have visited much better exhibitions of stuffed animals before. Honestly, T. IVANAUSKAS MUSEUM OF ZOOLOGY in Kaunas, Lithuania has much wider and more beautiful exhibition, which left me and my little siblings amazed for sure.

Natural History Museum in Oslo also offers some educational stuff for kids. 😀

Don’t get me wrong, Natural History Museum in Oslo has some very impressive stuff like T-Rex, fossils and crystals which makes this place worth your visit. However, don’t waste your time visiting an exhibition of stuffed animals unless you are traveling with kids. In that case stuffed animals probably will be the most interesting thing for little tourists and at the same time not that scary as a huge Dinosaur in the middle of the room and not that boring as some rocks on a shelf. All in all, this museum has something for every visitor. 🙂 Moreover, as I mentioned before it is located next to The Botanical Garden where you can have a nice walk or a picnic after visiting a museum and Munch museum is in a walk-able distance too.

Plus, you can visit Natural History Museum for free on Thursdays or with Oslo Pass any other day of the week.

Have a nice trip and feel free to write comments! 🙂
